Thursday Blog Hop Link Party #19

Happy Thursday! I don't know about you but I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to the weekend as this week has been a tough one. I have had to pick and choose which posts to put up this week which is why yesterdays post didnt happen and like for the last few weeks in a row, I won't be including a Friday Finds interview. I want to continue with that feature but it's something where I would like to fit in a day where I can talk about handmade products more so I may expand Friday Finds to include product reviews, and have monthly or bi-weekly interviews instead. I'll be working it out this weekend when I get a moment. I also want to involve my photography more in posts so thats something on the cards, which I think will mean a big blog revamp, although I will retain what is here... I'm not going to remove features entirely :)

Anyway... let's hop! Have a great week!

Jewelry by Jaynemarie

Tuesday - BESTeam Mosaic
weekly shoutout to the dedicated workers that like to help other handmade artists...

Jaynemarie on Etsy... In my Etsy journey I have found that I have experienced both extremeties of scenarios that can occur with running two very different shops. One is very busy and the other is rather quiet. Over the years I understand now that being able to establish my mark in any of the busy handmade catagories, I really need to go that extra mile to show that what I have is unique and worthy. A huge catagory on Etsy is the Jewelry catagory and it is SO hard for sellers to break themselves into selling without having that little bit of oomf to get them started. I started myself down that road and it wasn't long before I moved onto what I can do better. I really do love looking at the jewelry sellers make on Etsy for the fact that despite seeing 100's of necklaces, earrings, rings galore, if you look hard enough you can see true heart and soul emerging from some pieces, and in that truely beautiful craftsmanship. My favourite Jewelers have to be the ones that work metal themselves or use gemstones as most of the time I find that is where my jaw drops and I fall in love! Jaynemarie jewelry is a seller I feel has a LOT to give through her work, and through reading her profile I am warmed by the life long passion she has had to build on her creative niche, going all the way back to when she began on her barbie dolls! She has since worked hard on gaining the necessary experience to create in the way she is able to today and I just love her work and the fact that her experience in her craft has been a journey through the years. Her jewelry is perfect for special occassions so if you are looking for something very special, I recommend looking through her store :)

For those of you with a passion for handmade, and you have a blog that is in need of a consistant weekly post to drive your traffic and help fellow artisans by doing the same. Come and join the BESTeam!

Thursday Blog Hop Link Party #18

Morning all! I decided in the end to go for the subscription to LinkyTools to continue my blog hop as I'd finally learnt a bit more about it and discovered that it wasn't as expensive as the rumours I had heard had stated, and to be fair I think the owner who runs the site by himself deserves something for the hard work he puts into everything so I'm signed up and my weekly blog hop is BACK! Happy hopping!

FlutteringFlowers Fimo Crafts

Tuesday - BESTeam Mosaic
weekly shoutout to the dedicated workers that like to help other handmade artists...

FlutteringFlowers on Etsy... I need to go back in time to one of my first few interviews on this blog, to recall the fun and whimsical polymer designs of Deborah from FlutteringFlowers! And wow it's great to see how well she has been doing since that interview! (Hats off to ya!).
This is a store that shouts out passion for clay! The array of buttons and critters are just adorable (love the big eyes!) and totally unique to the fun-filled style of Deborah's imagination. She now boasts a collection of stamps, erasers, FIMO canes, and pins, equally as cute and as bright and cheerful as the original designs I had seen so long ago. I think for anyone that love's anything cute and is in need of supplies for their own crafting adventures, then Deborah's shop is the place to be :) Don't forget to check out her blog to find out what she's up to with her business and to read her features of other artists!

Strange

Sunday - Coffee and Cake
weekly mommy babble and handmade goings on...

Weird Week... yes... It has certainly been different! This morning for instance has been the 2nd night in a row that my son (not the baby) has decided to keep me up all night, then when coupled with my daughters desire to do the same things can be pretty tiring for me as you can imagine! It normally happens when I have been up late working too. Go figure! So I've been awake each night imagining all the snoozing bodies in my timezone whilst the kids are jumping around all over the bed. At least it's given me time to reflect a lot on plans for the future which has been the positive!

I won't go into everything but I'll share what occured at the start of the week. It was probably the weirdest day, with my new sofa having arrived to the house, and the darned thing just refused to fit through any of the doors! We got it in, in the end without the rip off suggestion from the company we purchased from (upholsterers to take apart my NEW sofa for a quarter of it's value??? I know they didn't even try to go there... nooooooooo!), by getting it in through our front window which had to be removed... ho! Oh the fun of that day...

But yes. I do wonder why sometimes in life you tend to get these very bizarre stages where loads of strange things occur. And believing in the law of attraction I do get a bit confused by it. As these events are generally neither positive or negative for me. Just weird... like you've hit some sort of ink smudge in the story of your life.
I always expect with negative events, that they will be followed by 3 times more positive results (they always do) and that positive events are always progressive in the same way. Things are constant and always moving with a directive known as intention. But something in between that is far from normal? I don't often experience things that for some could be extremely frustrating for some that leave me feeling quite neutral. It's exciting to say the least, I do wonder what will come of such things as I think sometimes that in a way maybe it means I'm quite comfortable with the occurances in life and open to new experiences without judgement or fear. Then I can completely contradict that and poop my pants about things which I guess is human nature, having an emotional body as we all do. It's fascinating though. The kind of things that move people to joy, or tears, or just don't really do anything. I love experiencing emotions as they tell me so much about me, where I've been and where I'm going and especially since having my children I find that all of my experiences whatever they are, good or bad seem to be worth it in the end.

Happy Valentines day for tomorrow everyone! May cupids arrows work overtime :)

Pecanieregirl Custom Monogram Apparel and Gifts

Tuesday - BESTeam Mosaic
weekly shoutout to the dedicated workers that like to help other handmade artists...

Pecanieregirl on Etsy... Being a mother means I am always on the look out for beautiful clothes on a regular basis being as my kids grow out things faster than I can blink, and for my little baby girl in particular this is something I find myself doing more than ever. It's not easy visiting the local commercial stores to find something just that little bit personal for my baby which I'm sure is something a lot of mothers try and want to find just so there is something unique and special that can be kept as a keepsake when they grow out of them. It's one thing I love about the handmade community, the fact that everything being made has that personal touch to it. For pecanieregirl, her personal touch comes in the form of monogramming and embroidery on childrens garments. And besides them being super cute, there is such variety to choose from for both style and garment type!

Pecanieregirl is a mother and grandmother herself from south LA. She works as a hospice nurse for an inpatient hospice when not working on her renewed pastime of sewing and machine embroidery which she used to do when her children were younger having learnt the skills of her craft from her older sister. She even has a keen interest in digital and paper scrapbooking!

To check out her store direct I would recommend it as I think her childrens items would make perfect gifts for baby or for families expecting a new addition :)
